Cubic Right Angle Weave, Ta-Da!

Remember back to Wednesday, when I had to teach myself Cubic Right Angle Weave (CRAW) on the fly, so I could teach it to 2 customers in the shop?

Here is the sample of CRAW I worked up on Wednesday:

This stitch works up very quickly, and I like it, except for one thing:
If you look at the intersections where the beads come together, you can see all the threads (you may have to enlarge the picture). While the threads are neat, I don't like the fact that they are visible. At all.

The particular pattern I was working from called for embellishing the CRAW, and this is the final result:

In a close-up shot, you can see that the embellishing neatly covers all the bead intersections where threads were previously visible, so that's cool, and this makes a nice bracelet, and would make a nice rope for a necklace. It's rigid, yet flexible, if that makes sense.

However, it is a little too frou-frou for me to use regularly, so while I intend to try CRAW again, I am going to play around with different ways to embellish it. In talking to Karen from Backstory Beads yesterday, she told me that she embellishes her CRAW with peyote, so that is one method I'll be playing with.

Anyone else have any secrets for embellishing CRAW?

Very pretty CRAW:-)
I like the colors, because they're Spring ones and also the stitch.I always make the ropes to my pendants that way,but never embellish them.I'd have to think about it:-)
