In between juggling other projects, I created 4 pairs of earrings over the last couple of weeks. These designs were developed to deal with an inventory problem: I had about 18 feet of gorgeous Vintaj Natural Brass chain whose links were too tiny for any matching jumprings I have or could make (without breaking down and ordering WIRE, which I didn't want to do, because then I would end up with a bunch of small gauge wire I didn't need!).
Adding fringe to the bottom of these earrings seemed like a perfect solution! And I have enough chain left over to make one more pair - just trying to decide which beads to use for the last pair!
These findings are neat - one side of the hoop unhooks at the top, so you can slide beads on it. And there's a ring, for dangling stuff - I chose magnesite and crazy lace agate (and some silver spacers and chain) for the dangles, and put some lavender chalcedony and Czech glass on the hoop portion.
These earrings were made with shells I found on the beach at Daufuskie Island the last time I was there, which was way back in 2007 - way too long ago! I miss the beach!
These earrings were designed to go with my Holiday Swarovski Bracelet, particular the double decker pair, which are just screaming to go to a party, in my opinion!
Tigers' eye and fancy beadcaps combine in this cute earrings (and some Czech glass and sterling silver spacers) - some people see coffee, some people see tea. I guess it depends on your perspective!
Today I'll be working on a custom order; my task is to turn this broken vintage bamboo coral bracelet into a pair of "long, dangly" earrings for the customer's daughter.
Earrings are always a challenge for me - everyone's taste is so different! I know what I like, but am never confident that the customer will like what I come up with.
I had some leftover, irregular hieshe turquoise, and some mismatched coral spicules, and I hate to waste beads, so I put them together in these earrings, with a Bali silver bead at the top.
Turquoise and coral are sort of a foolproof combo, don't you think?
These gorgeous faceted Czech glass rondelles are green with a blush of pink. I paired them with Swarovski crystals and Bali silver, and topped them with a pink glass seed bead for a little pop of color.
My student yesterday was late so I had to fill some time. Not knowing how late she was going to be, I didn't want to dive into the fringe necklace, so I started playing with some beads, wire, and hoop earrings.
This is how far I got before she finally showed up:
Hoping to finish this pair today - they're freeform, so they go fairly quickly, even though I'm doing a pretty dense pattern.
And here is the finished garnet torsade I created while teaching the multistrand class yesterday:
